Motives
Serving Others
What are your motives when you are focused on praise?
Is it for Jesus, or you, when your hands are raised?
Can your motives be perfect? Can they be true?
What are they when they are concentrated on you?
Think about why you give.
Is this why and how you live?
How, when, and why should you pray?
Is it to the Father the things you say?
Why do you fast?
If your motives for doing it will not last?
When you serve, is it done publicly for all to see?
Or do you serve anonymously?
We all have motives; this is for sure.
When your motives are tantamount to pleasing God, they will be pure.
Motives can have a way of wearing the mask of a facade.
A THOUGHT TO REFLECT ON
Check your motives in three areas: generosity ( Matthew 6:4), prayer (Matthew 6:6), and fasting (Matthew 6:18)

August 2, 2022 at 11:35 pmGreat words for thought. Recently I committed myself to a praise fast, as I called it. This very simply put meant that I would intentionally praise God throughout the day by the words of my mouth, the thoughts in my head. Lastly it meant that I would not ask for any nor complain about anything. I just thanked and praised God for his many, many blessings. For every need in my life that he fulfills daily. My what peace and joy I experienced during those days. I now practice discipline of praise on a regular basis.
